this term refers to the amount of time the cameras shutter stays open to expose each frame of video. Shatters speed affects how much motion is portrayed – sharp or blurry – and also affects how much light enters the lens in addition to the aperture.

The amount of time it takes for the camera shutter to open and close. Faster speeds produce crisp motion and slower speeds produce motion-blur.
